Director of the Additive Manufacturing Centennial Lab (AMCL). Founder of the Nanotechnology Master’s Program at AUC, 2009-2015. She is co-founders of the Yousef Jameel Science and technology research center (YJSTRC) since 2002 and was the Associate Director for Fund Raising and External Funding at the center of November 2007. A co-founder of the PhD program in Applied Sciences and Engineering fall 2011 and a co-founder of the master’s program in biotechnology, 2008. She is a co-founder of the Egyptian National Nanotechnology Network (ENNN) and the University representative. She received her BSc and MSc degrees in Materials Science and Engineering at AUC and received her PhD in Mechanical Engineering in the materials field from Texas A&M University 1997. She joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering at AUC as an assistant professor in 1999.

Sherif Abdelmohsen

Sherif Abdelmohsen is Associate Professor of Digital Media and Design Computing at the Department of Architecture, American University in Cairo (AUC), Egypt. He is also co-founder and managing partner at UDAAR Engineering Consultancy and IT Solutions, and president of the Arab Society for Computer Aided Architectural Design (ASCAAD). Abdelmohsen received his PhD degree in Architecture from Georgia Tech (2011), and participated in design computing research and teaching at both Carnegie Mellon University and Georgia Tech. He has over 60 published articles in the areas of parametric design, BIM, digital fabrication, responsive architecture, and design-to-robotic production. Professionally, he participated in award-winning international competitions and architectural projects in UAE, KSA, Lebanon, Italy, Germany and Egypt. Abdelmohsen is honorary recipient of the Knowledge Application and Notion for Society (KANS) scientific competition (2018), Faculty Award of Merit for Best Doctoral Presentation (2012), and ARCC/KING Medal for Excellence in Architectural and Environmental Design Research (2009).

Omar Geneidy

Omar Geneidy is an Egyptian Architect specialized in Digital Design and Robotic Fabrication with Masters in Robotics and Advanced Construction (MRAC) from the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC), Spain. He is the Founder of JEEZAR Studio, an Egyptian startup specialized in digitally fabricated furniture. He also works as a researcher at the American University in Cairo (AUC) at the AUC Additive Manufacturing Centennial LAB. His previous experience includes working as a research and teaching assistant at École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland. And he has also worked on multiple projects involving the use of Robotics and digital fabrication in the architectural practice. He took part in 7 international workshops related to digital design and digital fabrication. And has organized International and local workshops in the same field. In addition, he has also published online courses in the field of computational design with more than 5,000 enrolled students on multiple platforms.

Ahmed Elsokaty

I am a Research Assistant and Wire +Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM) Operations Engineer at the American University in Cairo (AUC) for more than two years. I am responsible for the robotic manipulation of an integrated robotic system (IRB 1600, IRB 6700 robotic arms & IRBP A type positioner) in the AMCL (Additive Manufacturing Centennial Lab) at the AUC, WAAM deposition, path planning strategy, deposition parameters for different welding materials through Fronius TPS 4000 power source, Subtractive manufacturing (machining) through a milling robotic arm with a spindle package, microstructural evolution, mechanical testing and inspection of the produced parts through WAAM. I am currently a MSc student at the mechanical department in the American University in Cairo and I have a BSc degree in Metallurgical & Materials Science Engineering from Suez University in 2017.
