Award Selection:

The awards allocation will be made by a committee jointly formed by DigitalFUTURES Fellows, award selection committee and the CDRF Host and will be based on the merit of contribution, overall quality, and relevance to DigitalFUTURES and demonstrated depth of research.

Award certificate will be presented during the conference.

DigitalFUTURES Young Award

This award is given to an individual or group of young scholars/practitioners/educators involved in DigitalFUTURES, acknowledging their outstanding contributions to the field of digital architectural design and robotic fabrication early in their careers (within 10 years of obtaining their first bachelor's degree). Each applicant can only receive the award once, based on the merit of their work. Recipients are expected to attend the conference either in person or online to accept the award.

Application materials:

        ●         Name and contact details

        ●         CV (less than 10 pages) and Portfolio (optional)

        ●         Personal statement less than 250 words provided in word format, articulating past involvement in DigitalFUTURES and applicants’ outstanding contributions to the field of digital architectural design and robotic fabrication early in their careers.

 

DigitalFUTURES Project Award

This award is given to projects completed within the past 3 years that have made significant contributions to the architectural discipline through the application of digital technology. The scale of eligible projects ranges from fashion design, art installation, innovative pavilion to urban development. The DigitalFUTURES community can nominate projects completed by anyone, but a valid contact for the project team must be provided. An awardee representing the project team is required to attend the conference either in person or online to accept the award and grant DigitalFUTURES permission to use submission materials (or approved substitutes) for award announcements on relevant media platforms. One person or team can only submit one project per year.

Submission Material:

        ●         1 High resolution image

        ●         Project information should be provided in a Word document, which includes contact information for the project team (contact person + email), project name, location, year of completion, a project description of 200-500 words, and credits.

 

DigitalFUTURES Coding Award

This award is given to a digital tool that revolutionizes architectural research, practice or education by offering advanced thinking paradigm and working flow. The tool could be recognized as a piece of code, a plug-in, fully developed software, etc. The tool should be publicly accessible with sufficient documentation for a qualified user to use. The DigitalFUTURES community can nominate any digital tools. However, a valid contact to the tool’s development team must be provided. An awardee representing the tool’s development team is required to attend the conference in person or online to receive the award, and grant DigitalFUTURES the use of submission materials (or approved substitutes) for award announcement in relevant media platforms. One person or team can only submit one tool per year.

Submission Material:

        ●         1 High resolution image of tool demo.

        ●         Tool’s information should be provided in a Word document including the contact information for the tool development team (contact person + email), tool’s name, environment/software platform, 250 words tool description, credits.

        ●         A link to the tool’s public access page (Food4Rhino, Github .etc)
